About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Care Worker to join our team at CareTech Group in Bedford and Essex. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing a supportive and nurturing environment for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Emotional Support: Provide emotional support and guidance to young people during challenging times, helping them to build resilience and self-confidence.
  • Relationship Building: Establish strong and healthy relationships with young people, helping them to learn to trust and develop positive relationships.
  • Key Working: Work as a key worker to one of the young people, providing individualized support and guidance to help them achieve their goals.
  • Education and Personal Development: Support young people in their educational pursuits and help them to develop their personal and social skills.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and prepare written reports for planning meetings, reviews, and other meetings as directed by the line manager.
  • Advocacy: Act as an advocate for young people in meetings where they are the subject of discussion.
  • Community Engagement: Encourage young people to participate in community activities and expand their personal social networks.
  • Home Maintenance: Assist with the maintenance of the home, including laundry, cooking, cleaning, and shopping.
Requirements
  • Minimum age requirement: 21 years old
  • Full UK driving license preferable
  • No prior experience necessary, only a commitment and passion for working with young people
  • Attendance at a 2-week training program required
  • Must have availability for sleep-in shifts
