Job Title: Site Engineering Manager

Tradebe is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Engineering Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of our plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with statutory legal requirements and company policies
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture
  • Manage the Engineering team to ensure the safe and efficient maintenance of plant and equipment
  • Oversee the allocation of daily work orders and control of technicians
  • Responsible for managing the installation, inspection, servicing, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment and instrumentation
  • Facilitate planning of shutdown work and intrusive safety-critical jobs
  • Ensure project plans, improvements, repairs, and shutdown works are performed to the appropriate standard
  • Work with the Business Processes Manager to implement and manage engineering Key Performance Indicators
  • Contribute to the development of engineering training records and ensure adequate coaching and competency assessments are performed
  • Ensure all engineering activities follow Tradebe permit-to-work procedures
  • Manage contract labour and ensure they are fully aware of site activities and hazards
  • Encourage and challenge the engineering team to optimise plant/equipment to maximise group profitability
  • Regularly review inspection and breakdown data to improve plant availability
  • Manage direct report holidays and ensure sufficient coverage is maintained
  • Ensure all waste generated through engineering activities is disposed of timely and efficiently
  • Assist the Site Manager in all aspects of their work and deputise as required
Requirements:
  • Strong business management skills
  • Budgeting control experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Project management experience, including CDM regulations
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Investigative/analysis techniques to enhance and aid trouble shooting
  • Fully competent with legislative paperwork requirements
  • Team player
  • Problem-solving aptitude
