Job Overview

BAND 6 RESPIRATORY PHYSIOTHERAPIST POSITION

We are pleased to announce an opening for a Band 6 Physiotherapist specializing in Respiratory care within our rotational program.

Key Responsibilities

The role encompasses five nine-month rotations across diverse specialties, including:

  • Intensive Care and High Dependency Unit, focusing on weaning, rehabilitation, and respiratory management.
  • Medicine, which includes Acute Non-Invasive Ventilation, respiratory outpatient services, and support for the High-Level Isolation Unit.
  • Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary Surgery, incorporating the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) pathway and prehabilitation.
  • Liver Transplantation.

Our team benefits from the guidance of a Respiratory Physiotherapy Consultant with expertise in non-invasive ventilation and research, providing invaluable support to the team.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree or graduate diploma in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
  • Registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a physiotherapist.
  • Completion of certificated graduate courses or equivalent in-house training in relevant clinical specialty areas.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Membership in the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).
  • Involvement in special interest groups such as the ACPRC.

Experience Requirements

Essential

  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant clinical guidelines.
  • Broad clinical experience at a Band 5 level or higher.
  • Experience in an acute hospital setting, including collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to present to various groups.
  • Experience in teaching or training staff or students.
  • Supervision of junior staff, assistants, or students.
  • Active participation in audits or project work.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
  • Experience with weekend and emergency on-call duties.

Desirable Experience

  • Training in Motivational Interviewing or Behaviour Change (CBT or facilitation skills).

Skills and Competencies

  • Demonstrated specialist clinical skills alongside core Physiotherapy competencies.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within both multidisciplinary and unidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
