Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support to pupils with a range of needs, including PMLD, complex medical conditions, and autism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to pupils in various learning contexts, including the classroom, local environment, and community, to aid their learning, development, and progress across the curriculum.
  • Empower and support pupils with complex needs to achieve their educational and personal goals, promoting equality, diversity, and the rights of our pupils to be treated with respect and seen as learners.
  • Participate in physical intervention and personal care routines, if required, and provide high-quality support in all aspects of the role.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans, promoting a greater understanding of Special Education issues and upholding the values of the school.
Requirements
  • Relevant professional or personal experience in SEN is required for this role.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide high-quality support to pupils with complex needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, teachers, and other support staff.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to changing circumstances.
