About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special education needs school in the Milton Keynes region. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and challenging behaviors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide individualized support to students with special educational needs.
  • Assist students with academic tasks, such as reading, writing, and math, and encourage independence in their learning.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support students with challenging behaviors, and work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other staff members to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of strategies to support students with special educational needs.
Requirements
  • Enhanced child DBS on the update service or willingness to get one.
  • Experience working with children or young people with additional care needs.
  • 2 recent professional references.
  • Experience with behaviors that are challenging.
  • A calm and caring personality.
  • A strong and resilient personality and be committed to pupils' development.
  • Reading, writing, numeracy, and communication skills.
  • Team Teach trained - or willing to attend training.
