Pertemps is proud to partner with Royal Mail in their search for dedicated Parcel Delivery Drivers across Orkney.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Begin your day at the local delivery office, efficiently sorting and collecting mail and parcels ready for distribution.
  • Utilize a handheld device to capture customer signatures upon delivery. This device will also serve as your navigation guide, directing you to each delivery location.
  • Prepare for a physically demanding role that involves walking an average of 8 miles daily. You'll be responsible for carrying a bag weighing up to 16kg, delivering letters and parcels, with individual parcels reaching up to 20kg.
  • Deliveries will encompass both driving and on-foot routes, requiring you to maneuver a trolley during deliveries.

Essential Skills:

  • Hold a valid UK driving license with a maximum of 6 points (a clean license is highly preferred).
  • Previous experience in delivery or driving is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Demonstrate strong time management and organizational abilities.
  • Possess excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Maintain a commitment to safe and responsible driving practices.
  • Be prepared to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
