Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Play Therapist to join our CAMHS under 14's team in Norfolk and Waveney. This 30 hours per week vacancy is based at Mary Chapman House, Norwich.

Main Duties

In this role, you will provide specialist evidenced-based assessment and therapeutic intervention to children and young people with mental health difficulties. You will work autonomously within professional guidelines, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.

You will be expected to offer advice and consultation on young people's psychological care to colleagues and other agencies. Regular clinician supervision and opportunities for training and development will be provided to support your role in the team.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our CAMHS teams as we review our ways of working to ensure our services are needs-led, outcome-informed, and accessible for the young people within Norfolk and Waveney.

You will have the chance to be involved in providing specialist mental health care in a creative and innovative way, informed by overarching THRiVE principles.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications:

  • Masters level/professional Play Therapy qualification
  • Registration with a professional body as a Play Therapist

Essential Experience:

  • Evidence of providing all aspects of Play Psychotherapy to clients, carers, and significant others
  • Group work in mental health

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Service development training and ability to deliver other therapeutic approaches (DBT, EMDR, IPT)

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Able to demonstrate a flexible enabling approach to service delivery
  • Advanced knowledge of a range of Play Psychotherapy evidence-based interventions used in the effective intervention in mental health problems
  • Awareness of other therapeutic approaches and application

Other Requirements:

  • Able to travel independently
