About the Role
Leeds City College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Assessor to join their School of Engineering team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for inspiring the next generation of young people into the industry, working in a state-of-the-art environment at the Printworks Campus.
Key Responsibilities
- Visit apprentices in the workplace, liaising with employers, mentors, and college teaching teams to ensure timely and successful completion for all students.
- Lead and supervise a team of assessors, including appraisals, mentoring, and performance management.
- Manage a caseload of learners, organise workplace assessment visits, and meetings with employers.
- Produce and monitor individual learning plans for learners and contribute to their updating, including Functional Skills and 20% of the job training.
- Lead, contribute, and participate in the assessment and quality assurance procedures for all programmes/training provision, including Internal Verification to the prescribed standards.
About You
- Have engineering experience, preferably in the utilities sector or related industry.
- Have previous experience of working with young people and apprentices.
- Hold a minimum of Level 4 qualification in an Engineering discipline.
- Hold an assessor's award V1, TAQA, or equivalent.
- Hold a recognised teaching qualification (desirable).
