About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Category Pricing Specialist to join our team at Blakemore Trade Partners. As a Category Pricing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and stability of our pricing tool, while also analyzing sales and margin performance to make recommendations for improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance of Pricing Tool: Ensure the accuracy and stability of our pricing tool, utilizing data from multiple sources to model the impact of proposed pricing activity.
  • Competitor Pricing Analysis: Use competitor pricing data to provide a clear and concise overview of our current position and customer perception of price.
  • Sales and Margin Analysis: Conduct ongoing analysis of sales and margin performance, using credible insights and data to make recommendations and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Price Change Impact Analysis: Understand the impact of price changes on customer performance and wider business metrics.
  • Promotional Activity Analysis: Analyze promotional activity in your categories, using learnings to develop and refine future activity.
  • Customer Behavior Analysis: Understand customer behaviors to drive consumer-led thinking and decision-making within the business.
  • Stakeholder Support: Support stakeholders across the business as the 'Go To' expert for all pricing matters in your area.
Requirements
  • Experience: Ideal candidate will have experience in a similar pricing role, handling and interpreting complex data sets into actionable insights.
  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in a retail business, with multi-channel exposure being a benefit.
  • Technical Skills: Experience using Power BI is desirable, and advanced user of Excel is required.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical skillset, commercially aware, strong communicator, and good problem solver.
