About the Role

OMG HR Ltd T/As SENDirect is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Learning Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a critical role in supporting students with additional learning needs, ensuring they receive tailored assistance to succeed in their studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and Manage a Team: Lead a team of Learning Support Assistants, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality assistance for students.
  • Collaborate with Faculty: Work closely with faculty to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that address the specific needs of students.
  • Provide Support Services: Offer one-on-one and group support to students, helping them overcome academic, social, and emotional challenges.
  • Monitor Progress: Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting support strategies as necessary to promote continuous improvement.
  • Modify Curriculum: Work with teachers to modify curriculum delivery to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Liaise with Stakeholders: Serve as a liaison between students, families, and external agencies to coordinate effective support.
  • Policy Development: Contribute to the development and refinement of college policies and practices related to special educational needs (SEN).
Requirements
  • Proven Experience: Proven experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role within a secondary school or college, with a strong understanding of SEN.
  • Qualifications: A relevant qualification in education, special education, or a related field.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaboration: The ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and external stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: A proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving and supporting student needs.
