About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Learning Technology Specialist to join our team at Essex County Council. As a key member of our Learning and Development team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our Learning Management System (LMS) and delivering innovative learning solutions to our learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Learning Technology Support
    • Provide technical support for our LMS, including troubleshooting and resolving issues related to user records, events, and sessions.
    • Assist in updating virtual sessions and building effective working relationships with other L&D practitioners.
    • Support interest tracking requests to ascertain future training needs for learners.
  • Content Management
    • Upload content as needed and set quarterly reviews to ensure content remains relevant and effective.
    • Update recordings to align with our L&D branding and ensure learners can easily identify relevant learning capabilities.
  • Platform Maintenance
    • Maintain and support our professional skills catalogue, ensuring it remains up-to-date and accurate.
    • Highlight problems on our LMS and escalate as necessary.
    • Checklist and review accessibility on our LMS content.
  • Communication and Marketing
    • Market our learning offer with guidance from our Learning Technology Consultant and collaborate with our comms and design team.
    • Post updates to learners on our internal communication channels.
  • Projects and Initiatives
    • Support the development of new L&D Teams area to centralize files and resources.
    • Assist in building new pages and removing 'Hubs' to improve the user journey for learners.
    • Help with Learning campaigns and events.
Requirements
  • Technical Skills
    • Proficiency in MS Office tools, including Stream, Insights, Sway, Forms, and Clipchamp.
    • Experience with learning technology platforms and tools, such as Cornerstone.
  • Soft Skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
