About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Health and Welfare Coordinator. This is a fixed-term 12-month contract with the potential to be made permanent, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a vital role in student and staff health and wellbeing at The Sheffield College.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting the Health and Welfare Officer and Academy areas to conduct risk assessments for students
  • Liaising with students, parents or guardians
  • Responding and supporting further actions relating to First Aid or Mental First Aid incidents
  • Delivering and assessing First Aid, Emergency First Aid, and Mental Health First Aid training for staff
  • Monitoring the First Aid Room and Resources
  • Undertaking departmental risk assessment audits (medical conditions)
  • Championing our commitment to putting students first

Skills and Knowledge
  • Level 3 AET (Award in Education & Training)
  • Health Care Assistant (or similar role considered) experience of working in a clinical setting (general medicine)
  • National Vocational Qualification (NVQ/SVQ) Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or an equivalent Healthcare related NVQ)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Automated External Defibrillator (AED), Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) and Safeguarding Children and Young People and Vulnerable Adults Level 2 training
  • Mental Health First Aid Certification desirable but not essential
