Educational Support Specialist

Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire
Salary: £95 - £120 per Day

GSL Education's South Yorkshire branch is seeking an enthusiastic Educational Support Specialist to assist our classroom educators and enrich the learning journey for our students. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for education, possess excellent interpersonal abilities, and be dedicated to fostering student achievement. In this role, you will collaborate closely with teachers to provide tailored support and contribute to a constructive and effective educational atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist classroom educators in delivering instructional content and activities.
  • Support students in their educational pursuits by offering one-on-one or small group assistance as required.
  • Help maintain classroom order and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Prepare and organize educational resources and materials for lessons.
  • Assist with administrative duties, including grading and maintaining records.
  • Monitor and support students' progress, providing constructive feedback and encouragement.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Engage in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Prior experience working with children or in an educational context is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
  • Patience, empathy, and a sincere interest in supporting student learning and growth.
  • Basic understanding of classroom management strategies and educational best practices.
  • Familiarity with educational technology and tools is advantageous.
