As a Steel Market Reporter specializing in Green Steel, you will play a pivotal role within the McCloskey Steel Raw Materials team, reporting directly to the Asia Editorial Director. Your primary focus will be on the EMEA region's steel trading landscape, facilitating price discovery and identifying emerging trends and opportunities. Your contributions will include producing timely price assessments, analytical reports, and news articles for daily dissemination.
Team Overview:
McCloskey by OPIS is renowned for its comprehensive market intelligence, price indices, and forecasting capabilities. The transition to sustainable energy is heavily reliant on mineral resources, making it crucial to grasp the dynamics influencing the markets for thermal and metallurgical coal, iron ore, scrap, steel, and base metals across various global regions.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide weekly reports on steel pricing, including Green Steel prices and premiums, with a specific focus on the European market. Initiate new steel price assessments, establish pricing specifications, and gather feedback from the market. Create news content related to the steel industry, emphasizing developments in Green Steel, which will be included in our daily and weekly news outputs. Write periodic articles addressing significant industry topics such as regulatory changes, geopolitical factors, investment opportunities, project pipelines, and ESG considerations. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients and industry stakeholders, ideally leveraging existing connections from previous roles. Actively participate in business development efforts, supporting OPIS account managers in maintaining sales pipelines and facilitating the sales process. Represent McCloskey and OPIS publicly within the steel sector through client engagements, industry presentations, media interactions, and content marketing initiatives.Qualifications:
Proven experience in the steel or steel raw materials sectors. Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to influence and impact stakeholders. Strong presentation skills, including experience moderating discussions at industry conferences. Quantitative skills are advantageous. Excellent written communication abilities. Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being capable of independent work. Experience in managing others while maintaining personal productivity. A Bachelor's degree is required.Benefits:
