About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior CAMHS Duty Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive assessments and interventions to children, young people, and their families in a variety of settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct full clinical assessments of children, young people, and their families referred to CAMHS, including weekend and evening shifts.
  • Manage a clinical caseload, comprising assessments and ongoing direct therapeutic interventions to children, young people, and their parents/carers.
  • Regularly discuss clinical issues and concerns with the CAMHS Team Leader, Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, and colleagues regarding ongoing therapeutic work.

Person Specification

  • Registered professional qualification in Mental Health Nursing, Social Work, OT, or other equivalent qualification.
  • Post-registration qualification in child and adolescent mental health or qualification in therapeutic approaches with children, young people, parents, or carers.
  • Relevant post-qualifying experience of working within children and families, including significant post-registered qualification experience with children, adolescents, and families in the area of mental health.
  • Evidence of experience working in a community setting as part of a multidisciplinary team, carrying out comprehensive assessments and care plans, and collaborative working with other services.
  • Evidence of ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, work as an effective member of a team, work under pressure, exercise high-level judgment and decision-making, prioritize work appropriately, and adapt to changing environments.
