Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at TimePlan Education. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the educational and personal needs of children with complex SEN are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to children with complex SEN, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to develop and implement individualized learning plans (ILPs) tailored to meet each child's unique needs.
- Assist with classroom activities, ensuring all children are engaged and progressing, and promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Liaise with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure holistic support for the children, and communicate effectively with the team to ensure seamless support.
- Support with personal care, mobility, and communication as needed, and assist with classroom preparation, activities, and management.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN, ideally within a school or care environment.
- A calm, compassionate, and patient approach to working with children, with a commitment to supporting children with complex needs in a nurturing and aspirational environment.
- Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently, and flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the children and the school.
- Excellent communication skills, and a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle (due to the school's location).
