Job Title: Community Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to provide learning and care support for a pupil with special educational needs (SEN).

Main Purpose:

The successful candidate will play a key role in helping the pupil work towards the outcomes of their education and health care plan (EHCP). The position involves collaborating with the class teacher to plan and deliver activities, while also supporting routines, transitions, and behaviour management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the Pupil:
    • Build positive relationships to promote self-esteem, independence, and social inclusion.
    • Support high standards of behaviour and respond to incidents in line with the school's behaviour policy.
    • Assist in the development and delivery of individual education, support, and care plans.
    • Provide support for the pupil's social, emotional, and mental health needs, escalating concerns when appropriate.
  • Teaching and Learning:
    • Utilize effective teaching strategies to support the teacher and boost the pupil's achievement.
    • Assist in planning and delivering differentiated learning activities inside and outside the classroom.
    • Help the pupil access a broad and balanced curriculum to reach their full potential.
    • Facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation in both learning and extracurricular activities.
  • Collaboration with Staff, Parents/Carers, and Professionals:
    • Share insights and knowledge about the pupil with school staff and professionals from education, health, and social care sectors.
    • Maintain clear communication with staff, parents/carers, and relevant professionals.
    • Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and other colleagues to support the pupil.
