Position Overview

The ideal candidate will oversee the mechanical and electrical upkeep of both stationary and mobile equipment, as well as the HGV/LGV fleet, ensuring that maintenance operations are effectively coordinated.


Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to Health & Safety and Environmental regulations.
  • Ensure all repairs meet compliance standards in line with Operators licence requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with the transport department to maintain vehicles to a compliant standard.
  • Manage defect repairs efficiently to enhance vehicle availability and minimize downtime.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service consistently.
  • Maintain effective communication at all times.
  • Utilize all IT systems accurately, ensuring timely data entry and processing.
  • Perform basic mechanical tasks, including the removal of damaged parts and installation of new components.
  • Conduct basic electrical repairs on vehicles.
  • Order new parts and consumables as needed.
  • Assist third-party engineers with both plant and vehicle maintenance.
  • Monitor and address daily vehicle defects, facilitating repairs as necessary.
  • Fabricate hydraulic hoses for replacement on all vehicles and equipment as required (training available).
  • Support in the preparation of vehicle disposals.
  • Weld containers (skip/RoRo) and vehicle components (training available).
  • Perform basic refurbishment of containers, including painting and applying environmental graphics.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to engage at all levels.
  • Self-driven and resourceful.
  • Capable of planning and prioritizing personal workload.
  • Proficient IT skills and computer literacy.
  • Detail-oriented and organized in work activities.
  • Proactive and reactive maintenance skills with effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to remain composed under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility in working hours to ensure operational continuity.
