Logistics Maintenance Engineer

The ideal candidate will oversee the mechanical and electrical upkeep of both stationary and mobile equipment, as well as the HGV/LGV fleet, ensuring that maintenance operations are effectively coordinated.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to Health & Safety and Environmental regulations.
- Ensure all repairs meet compliance standards in line with Operators licence requirements.
- Collaborate closely with the transport department to maintain vehicles to a compliant standard.
- Manage defect repairs efficiently to enhance vehicle availability and minimize downtime.
- Deliver exceptional customer service consistently.
- Maintain effective communication at all times.
- Utilize all IT systems accurately, ensuring timely data entry and processing.
- Perform basic mechanical tasks, including the removal of damaged parts and installation of new components.
- Conduct basic electrical repairs on vehicles.
- Order new parts and consumables as needed.
- Assist third-party engineers with both plant and vehicle maintenance.
- Monitor and address daily vehicle defects, facilitating repairs as necessary.
- Fabricate hydraulic hoses for replacement on all vehicles and equipment as required (training available).
- Support in the preparation of vehicle disposals.
- Weld containers (skip/RoRo) and vehicle components (training available).
- Perform basic refurbishment of containers, including painting and applying environmental graphics.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to engage at all levels.
- Self-driven and resourceful.
- Capable of planning and prioritizing personal workload.
- Proficient IT skills and computer literacy.
- Detail-oriented and organized in work activities.
- Proactive and reactive maintenance skills with effective problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to remain composed under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Flexibility in working hours to ensure operational continuity.
