The Clinical Radiology Department is expanding and is looking for dedicated, compassionate, and proactive professionals to enhance our team. The focus is on delivering patient-centered acute and specialized care.
We offer diverse sub-specialty opportunities, including advancements in interventional radiology, alongside specialized fields such as cardiothoracic, gastrointestinal, and acute radiology.
The role involves a substantive position for a Consultant Radiologist with a keen interest in Breast Radiology.
On-call duties are approximately 1:15, with CT scans being managed by a tele-radiology service during off-hours on weekdays and weekends. Weekend on-call responsibilities include 3 hours of on-site direct clinical care primarily for acute ultrasound cases.
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with fellow Consultants to ensure 24/7 coverage for the Unit on a rotational basis.
- Providing clinical oversight to junior medical staff in partnership with other consultants.
- Managing outpatient clinic responsibilities at peripheral hospitals as coordinated with the Divisional management team.
- Actively participating in the development, execution, and assessment of the department's Business Plan, focusing on projects that enhance service delivery and maintain professional education and training.
- Adhering to all infection prevention and control policies, including hygiene standards.
- Ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all stakeholders, including colleagues, visitors, and patients.
- Complying with the policies and standards of the organization, alongside relevant statutory and professional obligations.
- Understanding and contributing to infection control protocols.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess:
- A comprehensive background in Radiology, culminating in a Certificate of Completion of Training or a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialty Registration (CESR) from the GMC.
- Specialized training in breast imaging.
- Experience in managing Radiology services within a busy teaching hospital environment.
- Proficiency in information technology and general computer skills.
- A solid understanding of the UK National Health Service structure and recent developments.
- Experience in conducting clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
- Involvement in clinical research and teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
