Job Title: Trading Application Support Engineer

Location: London - hybrid

Up to 130k + Discretionary bonus

We are seeking an experienced Trading Application Support Engineer to join our team at Hunter Bond in London. This individual will be instrumental in supporting and enhancing our front-office trading platforms, ensuring seamless operation across multiple asset classes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for our trading systems, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate closely with traders, quants, and developers to understand and address front-office requirements.
  • Maintain and enhance the trading infrastructure, troubleshooting issues and implementing system improvements.
  • Automate and optimize workflows using Python and SQL, improving operational efficiency.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and low-latency execution across all trading activities.
  • Work closely with other teams, including development, risk, and operations, to ensure system integration and compliance.
  • Contribute to the design and deployment of new trading tools and applications.
Key Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in a front-office trading environment, with a deep understanding of financial markets and trading workflows.
  • Strong expertise in Linux administration and systems engineering.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting for automation, tooling, and data analysis.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL for database management, reporting, and performance tuning.
  • Experience working in high-pressure environments with a focus on real-time, low-latency systems.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with traders and technical teams, bridging the gap between IT and business.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in fast-paced settings.
Desirable:
  • Experience with market data feeds, FIX protocol, and other trading-related technologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and virtualization technologies.
