Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Practitioner to join our team at the University of Edinburgh. The successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting and assisting in the running of research studies within The Anne Rowling Clinic.

About the Role:

The Research Practitioner will be responsible for:

  • Disseminating clear information about studies to participants
  • Conducting study assessments strictly according to the study protocol
  • Encouraging maximum case ascertainment and retention in studies

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will contribute to a range of ongoing studies, with a focus on a new digital health study called DASH. This study uses speech recordings and user-friendly technologies to better understand, diagnose and monitor neurological conditions.

The Research Practitioner will work closely with the research team to:

  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies
  • Conduct study assessments and data collection
  • Collaborate with researchers to analyze data and draw conclusions

About the Team:

The Anne Rowling Clinic is a unique University/NHS facility, linking the highest quality care with world-class research for chronic neurological conditions. The clinic is based at the Edinburgh BioQuarter, with some travel to other recruitment sites in Scotland.

Requirements:

  • Previous care or nursing experience, particularly with chronic neurologically disabled adults
  • Previous research experience; clinical research experience is desirable
  • Effective interpersonal skills; ability to rapidly build and maintain positive relationships with a wide range of people
  • Good organisation, time management skills, and attention to detail
  • Experience with clinical databases including NHS systems is an advantage
