Principal Engineer - Platform Engineering at Featurespace

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our Platform Engineering team at Featurespace. As a Principal Engineer, you will take charge of the design and development of cloud-native platforms and services that cater to our customers and development teams. Your role will involve collaborating with diverse teams, including Site Reliability Engineering, engineering, external partners, and clients, to devise innovative solutions for intricate challenges while implementing industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating resilient cloud-based solutions that underpin Featurespace's Software-as-a-Service offerings.
  • Designing cloud-native solutions across multiple applications and platforms.
  • Enhancing software, services, and infrastructure to drive innovation within the sector.

This hybrid position requires a willingness to commute to the office a minimum of twice a week, with potential for flexible arrangements.

Requirements:

  • Experience in developing cloud-native applications utilizing Kubernetes and AWS.
  • Proficiency in architectural design.
  • Expertise in security measures including authentication, authorization, encryption, and TLS.
  • Implementation of Infrastructure as Code practices.
  • Knowledge of system design patterns and best practices.
  • Experience with containerization technologies.
  • Strong programming skills in high-level languages (e.g., Python).
  • Familiarity with Linux, shell scripting, and command-line tools.
  • Proficient in source control management (e.g., Git).
  • Experience with CI/CD and GitOps methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and service mesh technologies.
  • Background in developing platforms for both internal teams and external clients.
  • Understanding of networking concepts (DNS, routing, firewalls).
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming and design principles.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards (PCI-DSS, SOC2, ISO27001:2013).
