Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and specifying all Mechanical Building Services systems, including heating, cooling, hot and cold-water systems, ventilation, and controls.
The OpportunityThis is a unique opportunity to work on a long-term framework project, valued between £250-million to £400-million, delivering specialist nuclear technical services. You will have the chance to work as part of a JV team and contribute to the design of projects, collaborating with our BIM team to prepare models and drawings.
Your Key Responsibilities- Ensure a thorough understanding of project briefs and specifications.
- Design and specify all Mechanical Building Services systems, including heating, cooling, hot and cold-water systems, ventilation, and controls.
- Collaborate with our BIM team to prepare models and drawings, using industry-standard software tools.
- Manage the production of detailed calculations using Excel, IES, Hevacomp, and in-house developed tools.
- Develop and maintain a working understanding of Autodesk Revit and other relevant software tools.
To be successful in this role, you will need a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant subject. You should have experience in the design and specification of Mechanical Building Services systems and a good understanding of project briefs. Additionally, you should be able to work collaboratively as part of a team and have excellent communication skills.
