Culinary Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Chef Manager to join our team at Chartwells - Schools. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchens and service counters, delivering exceptional food experiences to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Food Preparation and Service: Prepare delicious meals to the highest standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish.
- Team Supervision: Supervise and motivate our culinary and catering teams to deliver impeccable food and customer service.
- Operational Efficiency: Oversee the efficiency of all in-unit catering operations, including inventory management, budget monitoring, and implementing action plans.
- Communication and Liaison: Communicate effectively with your line manager and other stakeholders to monitor KPIs and targets, and represent Compass Group UK&I in a positive and professional manner.
- Training and Development: Support and train our teams, leading by example to ensure everyone can excel in their role.
- Health and Safety: Implement and review Health & Safety standards to ensure compliance across all catering and service operations.
- Culinary Experience: A minimum of two years of catering experience, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality food and exceptional customer service.
- Team Management: Experience managing teams in a similar role, with a focus on motivating and developing staff.
- Certifications: Hold an NVQ Level 1 & 2 or City & Guilds 706/1 and 2, and a Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
- Financial Acumen: Demonstrate excellent financial management skills, with the ability to monitor budgets and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Communication and Organisational Skills: Possess excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
