We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Chef Manager to join our team at Chartwells - Schools. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchens and service counters, delivering exceptional food experiences to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Food Preparation and Service: Prepare and present high-quality food to the highest standards, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate our culinary and catering teams to achieve exceptional food and customer service standards.
- Operational Efficiency: Oversee the efficient operation of all in-unit catering activities, including inventory management, budget monitoring, and implementing action plans to drive improvement.
- Communication and Liaison: Communicate effectively with your line manager to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and targets, and liaise with customers and our culinary and service teams to ensure exceptional customer experiences.
- Brand Representation: Represent Chartwells - Schools and maintain a positive brand image, promoting our values and commitment to excellence.
- Food Concept Development: Identify opportunities for new food or service concepts to drive sales and growth, and work with our teams to implement and promote these initiatives.
- Training and Development: Support and train our teams, leading from the front to ensure everyone has the skills and knowledge to excel in their role.
- Health and Safety: Implement and review Health & Safety standards to ensure compliance across all catering and service operations.
- Culinary Expertise: Be passionate about great-tasting food and exceptional customer service, with a minimum of two years of catering experience.
- Team Management: Have experience managing teams in a similar role, with excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Certifications and Qualifications: Hold an NVQ Level 1 & 2 or City & Guilds 706/1 and 2, and a Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
- Financial Acumen: Demonstrate brilliant financial acumen and be able to manage budgets and resources effectively.
- Personal Qualities: Be an ambitious and motivated individual who is always looking to upskill and develop their career.
