The Department of Computer Science and Technology at the University of Cambridge is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to join our faculty as an Assistant Professor/Associate Professor in Human-Computer Interaction. We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in HCI research and teaching, who can contribute to our department's mission to advance the field of human-computer interaction.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct research in human-computer interaction, with a focus on advancing the field through innovative and interdisciplinary approaches.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in human-computer interaction, including interaction design and theoretical fundamentals of HCI.
- Develop and lead research projects in human-centered AI, theories of socio-technical interaction, psychology of programming, intelligent user interfaces, affective computing, cybercrime, computer music, mobile health, and other areas of HCI.
- Supervise research at the Master's and PhD levels, providing guidance and support to students.
- Contribute to the development of curriculum and teaching materials in human-computer interaction.
- PhD in Human-Computer Interaction or a related field.
- Strong research background in HCI, with a focus on human-centered design and interdisciplinary approaches.
- Excellent teaching and communication skills, with experience in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses.
- Ability to develop and lead research projects, with a strong track record of securing funding and publishing research.
- Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with experience in promoting these values in academic and professional settings.
