The Role: Financial Data SQL Developer

As a Financial Data SQL Developer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of our financial data. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining SQL code to support various business needs, including reporting, analysis, and decision-making.

  • Data Migration & Structure: Migrate existing data from Microsoft SQL Server to Snowflake, implementing a new data structure that optimizes performance and scalability.
  • Documentation & Testing: Create comprehensive documentation and testing evidence for all code changes, adhering to strict change management governance requirements.
  • Financial Analysis: Assist in investigating unexpected financial results by conducting detailed data analysis and providing actionable insights.
  • SQL Development: Develop new SQL code in Snowflake to meet reporting needs related to financial data, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Support the creation of financial processes and insights through data analysis and query development, contributing to informed decision-making.
  • Data Integrity & Compliance: Ensure the proper functioning of controls to protect the accuracy of financial outputs, adhering to relevant laws and standards.

Your Skills & Experience:

  • Proficiency in SQL programming languages. Knowledge of other programming languages (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of relational and non-relational databases, data warehousing concepts, and data modeling techniques.
  • Experience in documenting code changes.
  • Intermediate skills in computing, including Excel and Power BI. Knowledge of other relevant computing systems is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on financial data.
  • Ability to comprehend regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, effectively conveying complex information in a clear and concise manner.
