About the Role

Main Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Maintenance Specialist, you will report directly to the Section Manager and be responsible for:

  • Addressing equipment malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime and ensuring that temporary solutions are followed by permanent fixes.
  • Executing urgent repair tasks efficiently across all production machinery.
  • Managing small-scale projects with a proactive and practical approach.
  • Maintaining a cost-effective strategy for maintenance activities while coordinating with external contractors and suppliers.
  • Engaging in root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
  • Contributing to the development of safe working methods by collaborating on risk assessments and method statements.

Utilizing our computerized maintenance management system is essential for documenting all tasks, including fault descriptions, spare parts utilized, and repairs completed.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be self-driven, enthusiastic, and capable of working independently. You should possess:

  • Demonstrated experience in an industrial or factory setting as a Mechanical Technician.
  • A robust background in mechanical systems, particularly in heavy industry, including conveyors, motors, pumps, and crushers.
  • Proficiency in welding and fabrication, along with the ability to replace bearings.
  • Competence in performing emergency repairs swiftly and effectively.
  • Familiarity with application-based inspection protocols.
  • The ability to evaluate and manage safety, health, and environmental risks associated with maintenance activities.

Candidates should hold a CPC or be willing to undergo training.
