As a Research Scientist, you will be responsible for developing and advancing computer vision algorithms and software systems for real-time and offline SLAM, visual odometry, localization, 3D reconstruction, and object understanding.
Key Responsibilities- Research and Development: Conduct research and develop advanced software technologies in the domain of 3D reconstruction, scene understanding, object detection, SLAM, and mapping.
- Publication and Collaboration: Publish research results in top-tier journals and at leading international conferences, and collaborate with team members throughout the lifetime of a project.
- Product Deployment: Work with product partners to deploy research into Meta's products.
- Education: PhD in the field of computer vision, robotics, machine learning, or equivalent.
- Background: Background in advanced geometric computer vision, including 3D reconstruction, scene understanding, object detection, SLAM, and mapping.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience with a mastery of modern features in C++ or Python, and experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
- Interpersonal Skills: Experience in cross-group and cross-culture collaboration.
- Track Record: Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, and first-authored publications at leading workshops or conferences.
- Software Engineering Experience: Demonstrated software engineering experience via an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or widely used contributions in open source repositories.
- Mathematical Background: Mathematical background and understanding of numerical optimization, linear algebra, probabilistic estimation, and 3D geometry.
- Industry Experience: 3+ years of industry or post-doc experience as a research scientist.
