The Select Committee Team (SCT) plays a vital role in supporting the activities of the House of Commons Select Committees. These Committees consist of cross-party Members of Parliament who scrutinize government policies and expenditures. Position Summary

As a Committee Operations Manager within the Select Committee Team, you will oversee the daily operational management of your assigned committee. Collaborating with a small team, you will take the lead on operational issues, financial oversight, organizing both domestic and international committee visits, engaging with Members of Parliament and their staff, drafting official correspondence, and coordinating with the Digital and Publishing team regarding the committee's website and report releases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison with Members of Parliament, Specialist Advisers, witnesses, and other stakeholders concerning administrative arrangements.
  • Coordinate domestic and international committee visits.
  • Prepare written and oral evidence, including formatting, inserting headings, and editing for online publication.
  • Manage expenditure using the House of Commons financial software.
  • Reconcile management accounts.
  • Prepare end-of-year financial reports.
  • Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints during the organization of overseas visits.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in tracking and managing financial data.
