Our mission is to provide comprehensive solutions that support the advancement of wind energy initiatives globally. We are dedicated to sustainability, which influences our operations and objectives, aiming to create positive impacts for our clients, society, and the environment. As a trusted partner to wind energy developers, we offer a full spectrum of services throughout the lifecycle of offshore wind projects.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Geoscience Engineering Specialist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be engaged through Ordtek and will operate from our office.

Role Responsibilities:

In the capacity of a Geoscience Engineering Specialist, you will be well-versed in various infrastructure projects within the geoscience domain. While the position is primarily office-based, occasional site visits and travel may be necessary.

This role demands both independent work and collaboration within a team of Engineers and Consultants to successfully execute infrastructure, telecommunications, and renewable energy projects. Ideal candidates will possess a background and enthusiasm for fields such as land development, archaeology, marine construction, and environmental studies.

Key Duties Include:

  • Proactively engaging with clients to discuss project timelines and deliverables, ensuring effective communication and ongoing support for client operations.
  • Participating in client meetings across various regions, both in-person and virtually, to initiate projects and provide updates.
  • Thoroughly understanding client requirements and expectations.
  • Carefully reviewing client-supplied drawings and project specifications, ensuring all technical details are addressed.
  • Creating geophysical survey specifications for client proposals as part of the risk management strategy.
  • Providing technical assistance for tenders to clients and internal proposal teams.
  • Evaluating incoming geophysical data against anticipated project outcomes.
  • Analyzing project data and producing offshore reports for in-depth investigation, utilizing GIS, Oasis Montaj, and other analytical software.
  • Developing GIS charts to effectively present data to clients in both report and technical formats.
  • Assisting in the creation of GIS projects for clients and maintaining relevant documentation.
  • Drafting technical reports, including project bridging documents, technical notes, and final certifications.
  • Reviewing and refining internal reports before distribution to clients.
  • Researching emerging technologies and equipment pertinent to offshore geophysical surveys.
  • Maintaining project and database-related documentation for tracking and invoicing.
  • Organizing and managing internal documents and data.
  • Mentoring junior staff by sharing knowledge and providing guidance.
  • Experience in ground modeling techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with GIS software (ArcMap/ArcPro, QGIS) is advantageous.
  • Proficient IT skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Capacity to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in Geoscience.

Educational Background:

  • A University Degree or Master's in geophysics or related fields.

Additional Attributes:

Candidates should be organized, motivated individuals with strong communication skills, a solid work ethic, and a commitment to technical excellence and professional development. Personal transportation is essential due to office location.

Commitment to Diversity:

At Venterra Group, we prioritize inclusion and diversity in all aspects of our operations. We recognize the importance of fostering an inclusive environment where individuals from all backgrounds feel valued and welcomed. We are an equal opportunity employer, dedicated to creating a workplace that reflects our commitment to diversity and equality.
