We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Domestic Abuse Specialist to join our team as a Core IDVA. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in providing emotional and practical support to women and girls who have experienced domestic abuse.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality advocacy and support to women and girls who have experienced domestic abuse, focusing on those at high risk.
- Work closely with clients to develop and implement personalized safety plans, ensuring their needs are met and risks are mitigated.
- Collaborate with partner agencies and services to provide a coordinated response to domestic abuse, promoting a culture of zero-tolerance and safety.
- Advise clients on criminal justice and civil remedies, supporting them to access relevant services and resources.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to ensure the safety and well-being of clients, their children, and other family members.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Extensive experience in domestic abuse advocacy and support, with a strong understanding of the sector's best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and develop effective solutions.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and protocols, with the ability to apply them in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a strong commitment to promoting a culture of zero-tolerance and safety.
