About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Health Play Specialist to join our team at University College London Hospital. As a key member of our play team, you will play a vital role in supporting young people attending our Young People's Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and supervise junior members of staff and mentor students to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Work effectively with multidisciplinary teams to use therapeutic techniques creatively to enhance the children and young person's hospital experience.
  • Contribute to the development of services to young people within health and expand your knowledge, skills, and experience of working within a range of specialities.
  • Organize staff rotas, assess service needs, and referrals to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience of working with young people in a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to deal sensitively with families under stress and engage easily with children and young people.
  • Foundation degree in Healthcare Play Specialism, Edex/BTEC in Specialized Play for the Sick Child, or international equivalent.
  • Current registration with HPSET.
