We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Health Play Specialist to join our Play Team at GOSH. As part of a supportive team, you will work in Radiology, providing therapeutic play interventions to children and young people undergoing specialized treatment.
Main Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized play programs for patients to promote relaxation and engagement.
- Implement play programs for preparation, distraction therapy, and post-procedural play to enhance the patient experience.
- Evaluate interventions to ensure positive outcomes and make data-driven decisions.
- Health Care Play Specialism qualification or equivalent.
- Registration with a recognized professional organization, such as the Society of Health Play Specialists or Certified Child Life Specialist.
- Knowledge of therapeutic play, child development, and best practices in pediatric care.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Understanding of the impact of hospitalization on children and families, and the ability to provide empathetic support.
