We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Health Play Specialist to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children and young people in our hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities- To assess, plan, implement, and evaluate therapeutic play programs to support the holistic care of children.
- To promote awareness of the emotional needs of children in hospital and the importance of play within the multi-disciplinary team.
- To work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- To provide education and support to families and carers on play-based interventions and strategies.
- To contribute to the development and implementation of play-based programs and services.
- FdE or equivalent Health Care Play Specialism Qualification (or international equivalent).
- Awareness of Children's safeguarding issues.
- Experience working with children within a hospital setting.
- Experience in child care settings.
- Experience/knowledge of different cultures and ethnic groups.
- Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge/experience relating to consent, confidentiality, and child protection.
