Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced finance professional to join our team as a Legal Cashier. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your prior legal cashiering experience within a dynamic and friendly team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process client payments and receipts, dealing with residential and commercial completions, online payments, and ensuring compliance with both the Solicitors Accounts Rules and the firm's internal rules.
  • Monthly payroll processing.
  • Assist the Accounts department in all aspects of cashiering duties.
  • Post incoming client funds.
  • Process LAA remittance advice.
  • Carry out BACS/CHAPS/same day BACS/inter-account transfers via Barclays.
  • Process domestic and international electronic payments.
  • Deal with queries from fee earners and support staff.
  • Operate Designated Deposits.

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of experience in legal sector finance and credit control.
  • Ability to interact effectively with people at all levels within the firm.
  • Ability to work in a team with a client service focus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of Solicitors Accounts Rules.
  • Understanding of CCMS reporting and billing.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of LAA Costs Assessment Guidance.
  • Experience with legal aid processing and submissions.
  • Confident using various IT applications, including Outlook, Excel, Online Banking, and Practice Management Software.
