We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Device Engineering Specialist to join our Clinical Engineering section at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Job OverviewThe Medical Equipment Management Service (MEMS) is responsible for medical device management across the organisation, including planning the replacement of medical equipment, technical support for patient safety, device connectivity, research and innovation, asset register management and the management of external maintenance contracts.
Main Duties- Contribute to all aspects of Clinical Engineering, including device safety and inventory management.
- Plan and execute cost-effective procurement and support of medical devices in the Trust.
- Develop medical device requirement specifications and lead technical evaluations.
- Support the Trust response to medical equipment related safety alerts.
- Provide engineering advice and support to consultant, clinical, scientific and technical staff on highly complex issues involving medical devices.
- 1st or 2nd class degree in a relevant subject.
- Masters degree in Medical Engineering or equivalent.
- Registration as a Clinical Scientist with the Health and Care Professions Council or achievable within 12 months.
- Post-graduate qualification related to medical device management.
- Able to prioritise and manage own work.
- Able to exercise own initiative when dealing with common issues within own specialist area of competence.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office.
