Job Title: Course Director for BA (Hons) Sociology and Criminology

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary academic leader to spearhead our BA (Hons) Sociology and Criminology programme. As Course Director, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the programme, ensuring its continued success and growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive programme strategy, aligning with UK Management College's mission and goals.
  • Lead a team of academic staff, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver innovative curricula, ensuring academic excellence and relevance to industry trends.
  • Manage programme budgets, resources, and partnerships, ensuring effective use of college facilities and external relationships.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, including students, staff, and external partners, to promote the programme and enhance its reputation.
  • Contribute to college-wide initiatives, participating in committees and governance structures to shape the institution's academic and operational objectives.
Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree (PhD) in Sociology, Criminology, or a related social science field from an accredited institution.
  • Substantial experience in academic leadership roles, preferably in sociology, criminology, or a related social science discipline.
  • Proven track record of curriculum development, quality assurance, and programme management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
