Principal Business Analyst

Fantastic opportunity to secure a Principal Business Analyst role in DCC. The Business Analysis (BA) Practice sits within the Service Delivery function which is responsible for managing DCC’s end-to-end delivery through a structured governance process, on time, within budget and to the required standards for successful in-life operations.

The Service Delivery function encompasses the professional practices of Business Analysis, Testing and Programme & Project Management (PPM) and works closely with the professional practices based in other DCC functions such as Operations, Security and Architecture.

Programme delivery is underpinned by a Programme Management Office, which provides independent delivery assurance to each change programme, and a Portfolio Office which provides governance and insight to support planning and resourcing decisions across the change portfolio. The BA Practice provides professional business analysis services to DCC’s portfolio of delivery programmes via an internal matrix managed consultancy model.

**What you'll be doing**:

- The PBA will deputise for Head of Profession as and when needed on specific matters, including at forums with external stakeholders.
- The PBA will work with Business Senior Leaders, Director & & Head of Function level to understand the Business Strategy and evolution of DCC
- Drive idea analysis, and work this into a business proposal to be taken into the ‘Front Door Process.’
- Lead the early impact assessments across DCC to understand the internal and external impacts and costs.
- Own the BA input for the authority to proceed into the Concept to Contract stage of the lifecycle for business case development and funding approval.
- Support the SD ‘Concept to Contract’ Director to seamlessly transfer the project into Service Delivery
- Drive the handover of the business analysis to the BA Portfolio Delivery PBA to take the project through the ‘Contract to Market’ lifecycle to implementation.

**What we're looking for**:

- An experienced Principal Business Analyst who can demonstrate credibility and the ability to influence at a high level within their current or previous roles
- The Principal BA will have extensive experience interacting at Executive level and be passionate about best practice business analysis disciplines
- Demonstrable experience leading teams of BAs on complex business transformation programmes, 3rd party technology delivery/integration programmes, or significant procurement programmes
- Demonstrable experience of building high performing business analysis teams and managing others to consistently deliver a high quality business analysis service.
- Demonstrable experience supporting the establishment of programme delivery strategy, from a business analysis perspective
