Position Overview

We are in search of a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Technology Educator who possesses the expertise to teach Key Stage 3 Textiles. This role is essential in a thriving secondary educational institution, where the growth in student enrollment has created an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a profound passion for the subject of Food and Technology, coupled with a commitment to nurturing the next generation of Technologists. A solid foundation in both subject matter and teaching methodologies is crucial for delivering high-quality lessons that engage and inspire students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold School Values: Actively promote and embody the values of the school, fostering an encouraging and motivating learning atmosphere.
  • Enhance Student Performance: Utilize student performance data to establish high expectations and implement effective strategies that ensure all learners reach their full potential.
  • Ensure Continuity and Quality: Facilitate smooth transitions between Key Stages, maintaining consistently high educational standards.
  • Create a Supportive Learning Environment: Develop a classroom setting where students feel secure, inspired, and eager to learn.
  • Contribute to Curriculum Development: Collaborate with leadership to deliver a relevant and engaging curriculum, integrating cross-disciplinary themes such as business and finance.
  • Demonstrate Innovative Leadership: Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing student achievement through strategic planning and innovative practices.
  • Foster Effective Communication: Engage with all stakeholders, including parents, to build strong relationships and effectively communicate about student progress and curriculum developments.
  • Commit to Professional Growth: Show enthusiasm for ongoing personal development and contribute to the professional growth of colleagues.
  • Maintain Quality Assurance: Uphold high educational standards through lesson evaluations, data analysis, and participation in quality assurance processes.
  • Provide Pastoral Support: Monitor and support the overall development of students, acting as a Form Tutor and contributing to personal, social, and health education.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety Standards: Follow and promote the school's health and safety policies diligently.

Qualifications

  • Possession of Qualified Teacher Status.
  • A degree in a relevant field (higher qualifications are preferred).
  • Recent involvement in relevant professional development and training.
  • Experience in leadership and management at a middle leader level (preferred).
  • Experience in a school with Specialist status (preferred).
  • Current First Aid certification.
  • Current Safeguarding certification.
  • Current COSHH certification.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
