Are you a passionate and dedicated Food Technology Teacher with the ability to teach KS3 Textiles seeking your next teaching role? Due to a rapid growth in student numbers, at a popular secondary school (Ofsted rated 'Good’ - March 2023), we are seeking a committed and dynamic Food and Technology Teacher to join the team.

You must be passionate about the subject of Food and Technology, and dedicated to inspiring the next generation of Technologists. In this role you will need to have a strong subject and pedagogical knowledge so that you can deliver lessons of a high standard to the students.

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Learning Zone Technology and work closely with the KS3 Technology Lead, other subject leaders, support staff, external agencies, and parents. This role will be pivotal in fostering a collaborative and effective teaching environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion the School's Values: Embody and promote the school's values and beliefs, fostering a supportive and inspiring learning environment.
  • Raise Student Attainment: Utilize individual student data to set high standards and implement effective interventions to ensure all students achieve their best, as evidenced by external examinations.
  • Promote Continuity and Excellence: Bridge the gap between Key Stages, ensuring seamless progression and consistently high standards.
  • Cultivate a Safe Learning Environment: Create a classroom atmosphere where students feel safe, motivated, and excited to learn.
  • Support Curriculum Development: Work with the Director of Learning Zone Technology to deliver a dynamic and relevant curriculum, incorporating cross-curricular themes like business and finance.
  • Demonstrate Innovative and Strategic Thinking: Ability to lead Target Action Planning initiatives and develop strategies that raise student attainment.
  • Promote Strong Communication Skills: Engage with all stakeholders, including parents, to build strong partnerships and communicate effectively about student progress and curriculum matters.
  • Have a Commitment to Professional Development: Enthusiasm for continuous personal growth and contribution to staff development initiatives.
  • Quality Assurance: Uphold high standards through lesson observations, data analysis, and contributing to quality control systems.
  • Pastoral Care: Monitor and support students' overall progress and development, acting as a Form Tutor and contributing to PSHE and citizenship education.
  • Health & Safety: Adhere to and promote the school's health and safety policies.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • A degree in a relevant subject area (higher degree is desirable).
  • Recent participation in a range of relevant in-service training/professional development.
  • Successful leadership and management at middle leader level. (desirable).
  • Experience of working at a school with Specialist status (desirable).
  • Current First Aid certification
  • Current Safeguarding certification
  • Current COSHH certification
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
