Electrical Design Manager

Omega Resource Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Manager to join their team in Bristol. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supporting a team of CAD technicians and Electrical Design Engineers.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and development of high voltage electrical infrastructure, including substations and grid connections.
- Collaborate with the CAD drafting team to generate equipment layouts, cable route drawings, and construction plans.
- Select and specify primary equipment, including HV substations, and design secondary control wiring and protection schemes.
- Prepare multicore cable schedules and design packages for DNO contestable works.
- Ensure all designs are safe, compliant with CDM and Health and Safety regulations, and effectively communicate risks to project engineers and construction operatives.
- Previous experience as an electrical engineer in the electrical contracting or utilities industries.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering and higher degree or postgraduate qualification in power systems an advantage.
- Ability to support the continued development of electrical design engineers and successfully manage a team of engineers.
- Full UK driving license and ability to travel on work-related business with occasional overnight stays.
