Position Overview

Forge Talent is currently collaborating with a prominent organization seeking to appoint an Interim Financial Reporting Specialist. This role is designed for a duration of 6 months and will involve a hybrid working model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the formulation of the annual financial statements for the organization and its subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with the required standards.
  • Prepare detailed schedules and journal entries for the Financial Accounting Team, focusing on intricate areas such as investments, property transactions, legacies, endowments, and restricted funds.
  • Support the Head of Financial Accounting in managing the year-end financial reporting timeline by providing necessary documentation to address audit inquiries.
  • Contribute to the internal audit process and facilitate the resolution of any identified control issues.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow Financial Accountants and Finance Business Partners to ensure the timely and precise production of the monthly trial balance, including journal entries, accruals, and prepayments, to enable accurate report generation.
  • Assist in maintaining quality assurance over reconciliation activities within the Financial Accounting Team, reviewing reconciliations, ensuring prompt resolution of discrepancies, and implementing suitable controls and spot checks.
  • Oversee the management and updating of the Fixed Assets register, ensuring accurate calculation and recognition of depreciation and asset adjustments while adhering to established policies.
  • Assist the Head of Financial Accounting in the preparation and submission of all Corporation Tax and VAT returns by providing necessary data for tax documentation and VAT schedules.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience as a Financial Accountant or in a comparable role, showcasing a history of achievement.
  • ACA, CIMA, or ACCA qualified or part-qualified.
  • Experience with Fixed Assets is essential.
