Brellis Recruitment Ltd is seeking a dedicated and experienced Health, Safety & Quality Specialist to join our client's team. This global leader in the Manufacturing and Shopfitting Industry is committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality, health, safety, and environmental management.
As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in developing, implementing, and overseeing policies and procedures that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Your expertise will contribute to fostering a culture of continuous improvement, safeguarding employee well-being, and minimizing the environmental impact of operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide comprehensive support to the Senior Leadership Team and Group Head of QEHS.
- Develop, implement, and manage Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental management systems and policies, ensuring alignment with local, national, and international standards and legislation.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and hazard identification processes across all operations, implementing effective risk mitigation strategies to minimize occupational health and safety risks. Facilitate the completion of construction phase plans and contractor RAMS where required.
- Lead internal and external QHSE audits, coordinating with various departments to ensure readiness and compliance. Address any findings with corrective actions and provide support for their effective implementation.
- Design and deliver engaging QHSE training programs to all employees, promoting a culture of safety and awareness throughout the organization.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near-misses, claims, and nonconformities. Compile detailed reports with supporting evidence, conduct comprehensive root cause analysis, and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented to prevent future occurrences. Support the closure of employee, product, and public liability claims by liaising with company insurers and appointed solicitors.
- Monitor and report on QHSE performance metrics, analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Present findings to senior management.
- Liaise with external QHSE bodies, consultants, regulatory agency representatives, customers, and insurance inspectors to ensure all external obligations are met.
- Maintain required memberships and certifications to the highest possible standard, including (but not limited to) ISO, Altius, Safe Contractor, SEDEX, Artilaand Avetta.
- Oversee the management and disposal of hazardous substances and environmental permitting requirements, ensuring compliance with environmental protection regulations and minimizing environmental impact.
- Promote effective communication of QHSE matters across all levels of the business. Lead regular meetings with stakeholders, develop and circulate regular communication materials, including bulletins and toolbox talks.
