Location: UK

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off

Hours: 19:00pm-07:00am

Rate of Pay: Competitive

ABM Facility Services UK is seeking a skilled Cleaning Operative to join our team on a full-time permanent basis. As a Cleaning Operative, you will be responsible for providing a high level of janitorial and waste removal services in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work effectively and efficiently within our janitorial and waste removal team to provide a high level of service.
  • Carry out duties in welfare areas, such as washrooms, break rooms, and canteens, as well as social areas, like reception, offices, and locker rooms.
  • Handle waste generated on site via approved waste streams and ensure it is ready for transportation.
  • Operate walk-behind and ride-on sweepers and scrubber-dryers, as well as other cleaning equipment, and maintain them in a safe working order.
  • Respond to spillages and callouts from the client's on-site team.
  • Communicate effectively with your team and line manager.
  • Wear protective clothing (PPE) and comply with Health & Safety legislation and policies.
  • Work on your own initiative as well as part of a team, exhibiting great communication skills and confidence in communicating with team members and the client.
  • Undergo full training on all cleaning methods and equipment.

Requirements:

  • Satisfactory response from Disclosure Board at a basic level and knowledge of health and safety requirements or a willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods or a willingness to learn.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to a very busy operational environment.
  • Reliable and flexible approach to work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
