Job Title: Privacy Counsel

Deliveroo is seeking a highly skilled Privacy Counsel to join our in-house legal team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing legal advice and support to our business teams, ensuring that we maintain the highest standards of data protection and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert legal advice on data protection and privacy matters, ensuring that our business strategies align with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement data protection policies and procedures, ensuring that they are effective and compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with our Data Protection Officer team to provide support and advice on data subject rights requests, privacy complaints, and data incidents.
  • Work closely with our Data Management and Privacy Ops teams to ensure that data protection principles are implemented effectively across the business.
  • Monitor industry developments and regulatory changes, ensuring that our global privacy strategy remains up-to-date and effective.
  • Partner with other departments to provide privacy advice and support, ensuring that our business teams have the necessary guidance to operate effectively.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years PQE in the privacy/technology department at a leading law firm or in-house function.
  • Excellent academics and training.
  • Experience advising on privacy matters and supporting data protection compliance projects.
  • Strong business judgment, creativity, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in high-impact scenarios and remain calm under pressure.
  • Curiosity, willingness to learn, and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent soft skills and the ability to develop strong relationships with legal team and business partners.
