Privacy Counsel

Deliveroo is seeking a highly skilled Privacy Counsel to join our in-house legal team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing legal advice and support to our business teams, ensuring that we maintain the highest standards of data protection and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide expert legal advice on data protection and privacy matters, ensuring that our business strategies align with regulatory requirements.
- Manage and assist on privacy law matters, including providing guidance on data subject rights, privacy complaints, and data incidents.
- Partner with our Data Protection Officer team to provide support and advice on escalated privacy matters.
- Interpret and apply current laws applicable to Deliveroo's business, identifying potential risks and mitigating them.
- Manage outside legal counsel globally, ensuring that our data protection and compliance needs are met.
- Monitor industry trends and developments, keeping up-to-date with the latest best practices in data protection and compliance.
- 2+ years PQE in the privacy/technology department at a leading law firm or in-house function.
- Excellent academics and training in data protection and compliance.
- Experience advising on privacy matters and supporting data protection compliance projects.
- Strong business judgment, creativity, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in high-impact scenarios and remain calm under pressure.
- Curiosity, willingness to learn, and strong organizational skills.
