We are seeking a seasoned Multi-Disciplinary Engineer to join our skilled team at our bakery in Bellshill, Glasgow, due to an upcoming retirement.

In this role, you will collaborate with our Software & Controls Engineer on various projects while also providing support to the day-based maintenance team, addressing Electrical and Mechanical issues, and executing planned, preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

As a Multi-Disciplinary Manufacturing Engineer at Warburtons, you will work within collaborative shift teams alongside production, safety, and hygiene departments. Your engineering skills will be utilized to perform planned and preventative maintenance, developing sustainable, long-term solutions.

You will:

  • Address a diverse range of tasks, from general plant upkeep to enhancing plant reliability and proactively diagnosing issues.
  • Operate in a state-of-the-art, highly automated 24/7 food manufacturing environment.
  • Encourage and implement innovative ideas while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and execute continuous improvement projects aimed at boosting plant efficiency, minimizing downtime, and reducing energy costs.

In return, we will support and promote the development of your technical skills through additional training and coaching.

Essential Qualifications

  • Working Pattern: Week 1 = Mon (12 hrs), Tues, Wed and Thursday (10 hrs), Week 2 = Mon (12 hrs), Tues, Wed (10 hrs) and Saturday (12 hours)
  • Electrically biased engineer preferred
  • Basic understanding of PLCs is desirable
  • Engineering Qualification such as Apprenticeship, HNC, BTECH or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and experience of maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Health & Safety knowledge e.g. PUWER, IOSH – capable of ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Root Cause analysis and fault-finding skills
  • Decision-making skills, able to make timely decisions while considering broader risks and implications.
