Position Overview:

The role of the Industrial Chemistry Technician encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency in plating processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with plating specialists to guarantee the excellence of Chrome, Nickel, and Cadmium deposits.
  • Assist in maintaining quality control during chromate treatments, chemical films, passivation, and nital etching.
  • Oversee the implementation and enhancement of the Internal Quality System and Internal Laboratory Management System.
  • Support analysts in conducting thorough analyses of Chrome, Nickel, and Cadmium solutions.
  • Assist chemists in executing physical tests on test samples as specified, including Hydrogen Detection Instrument tests and other necessary evaluations.
  • Evaluate and refine existing processes to boost overall quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness while minimizing waste.
  • Manage and sample effluent waste, ensuring that comprehensive records are consistently maintained.
  • Ensure the availability of all necessary supplies for bath testing.
  • Establish a quality audit program to routinely assess compliance with maintenance protocols.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience in Chemistry and Plating Techniques.
  • Proficient in laboratory techniques with a solid understanding of plating solutions, including Chrome, Nickel, and Cadmium.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Health and Safety regulations and environmental standards, particularly regarding hazardous materials.
  • Knowledge of COMAH regulations is advantageous.
  • A collaborative team player with demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Flexibility in working hours is essential to accommodate project needs across various shifts.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK without restrictions.
  • Completion of mandatory training is required.
