Main Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain packaging machinery to ensure safe and efficient production.
  • Support the Departmental Manager in the production of orders, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Operate packaging machinery across both kitchen and packaging departments, following guidelines and ensuring work is carried out safely and hygienically.
  • Complete records of packaged products, ensuring standards are maintained.
  • Problem-solve minor mechanical issues and correct them.
  • Communicate and liaise effectively with colleagues.
  • Fulfill and seal a variety of cold/hot food products in a range of packaging containers, adhering to company standards.
  • Ensure all products are labeled correctly, adhering to company standards.
  • Pack products as required in cases, ensuring standards are adhered to.
  • Carry out product checks to ensure standards are achieved.
  • Ensure machinery is thoroughly cleaned as required, adhering to company standards.
  • Ensure work area is clean, sanitized, tidy, and well-maintained, and complete relevant records for cleaning activities.
  • Ensure a high level of hygiene is maintained both personally and within the work area.
  • Comply with health and safety legislation.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Report any maintenance requirements or repairs to the area supervisor, chief engineer, or senior maintenance engineer.
  • Report any issues that may affect food safety, quality, or legality, or pose a risk to health and safety.
  • Behave in a non-discriminatory manner in accordance with the Ethical Trading Policy.
  • Support other areas within production where required.
  • Carry out duties as management may reasonably require.

Requirements:

  • No formal qualification required.
  • Good general education.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a team and use own initiative.
  • Knowledge of hygiene practices.
  • Knowledge of health & safety practice.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Experience of working in a similar role or environment is desirable.

Working Hours:

  • Mondays to Fridays.
  • Working shift hours are normally 8 hours, but may vary, depending on start times and requirements.
  • Shift rotation each week.
  • Overtime and weekends optional.

Shift Options:

  • Early shift: 6am to 2.30pm or 7am to 3.30pm.
  • Late shift: 2pm to 10.30pm or 3pm to 11.30pm.

Pay Rate:

  • Pay Rate depends on shift allowance.
